The first Rodeo, New Mexico - Hidalgo Farmers' Market/Craft fair was held at the Ned Hall Community Park today. The next market will be held on October 9, 2013, for the first time were 11 venders. If anyone one wants to bring anything to sell bring your own table to the farmers market and no fee! The Peloncillo Mountains in the background and the rain is holding off today.
Some reasons people shop at farmers market are locally grown produce foods and crafts in your community. Supporting local farmers, ranchers, bakers and artisans help keep dollars circulating in your community. It gives shoppers the opportunity to meet the people who produce their food and ask questions about growing techniques, recipes and storage tips. Farmers' markets provide a festive atmosphere to meet with friends, family and neighbors of all ages and backgrounds.
